The reasons why someone may be homeless, or experiencing food poverty, are complex and multifactorial, and DCHK holds the belief that people have not made a conscious decision to be in the situation they are. As such, DCHK will strive at all times to be compassionate and respectful in the manner in which it works.
Food poverty is only one very small part of the wider picture, and will at all times look to work effectively with other organisations and agencies involved in supporting homeless people, and those people experiencing food poverty.
Working with vulnerable people is a fluid process, and the way DCHK works will constantly be reviewed and, if necessary, altered to meet people’s needs. DCHK does not want to de-skill people, and is very keen to help people develop their skills and move towards fulfilling their potential.
